Former head of the Amimoto family

From documents preserved in the Hamamoto family storehouse, we were able to trace the family back to the 14th generation through photographs.

Before the enactment of the Family Registration Law in the Meiji era (1868-1912), only the first name was recorded.

The earliest known record of a 四郎三郎(Shirouzaburo) in Tomari Village dates back to 1800. Although there is no record of how many generations 四郎三郎(Shirouzaburo) was, it is thought that he inherited the first name from generation to generation and began using 濵元(Hamamoto) as his surname from around the 14th generation.
